About
Mark Sheppard qualified as a hypnotherapist in September 2005 through the European College of Hypnotherapy run by the esteemed psychologist Dr Keith Hearne. Since then his practice has gone from strength to strength, mainly through word of mouth and recommendations from clients. Seeing the changes Mark was able to help his clients make in their lives and the change that working as a therapist had made in Mark’s own life, Mark’s wife, Julia Sheppard made the decision to give up her job as a successful company director to retrain as a complementary therapist and together they now run Mindcraft Therapy offering a whole range of treatments and services including hypnotherapy, reflexology, massage and reiki healing through their clinic in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Our Mission Statement
Mindcraft Therapy is dedicated to providing ethical complementary therapies with the highest standards of customer service and will only ever provide treatments and products in which we truly believe.
About Mark Sheppard
Mark Sheppard BSc. (joint hons.), MSc., Dip.Hyp., GQHP, NLP Prac., Forensic Hyp., Reiki Master/Teacher
Mark is a personal change coach and therapist with a unique perspective on therapy; for most of his life Mark suffered from a fear of talking in front of people. As is typical with this type of phobia it became stronger over time until Mark could no longer apply for jobs, let alone go for an interview; he avoided social gatherings and even had someone else deliver his speech at his own wedding.
Mark eventually realised that this irrational fear had grown to the point where it was now holding back his career and social life and then along came the perfect job; something needed to be done. Out of desperation Mark went to see a hypnotherapist and was astonished by the results. He applied for the position, attended the interview, was relaxed throughout and bingo he got the job. One more session with the therapist gave Mark the confidence to attend the two week group induction course for the job and there was no looking back.
This had such a profound affect on Mark that sometime later when he was in a position to re-train as a therapist he jumped at the chance and is now qualified in hypnotherapy, neuro linguistic programming (NLP) (through Helford 2000) and forensic hypnosis as well as being a reiki master/teacher. Mark left his job with the NHS and is now a successful therapist, personal development coach and reiki practitioner dedicated to delivering client centred services based on personal development and achievement. As a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) Mark follows a programme of continual professional development and has attended many further training events including, hypnosis for painless childbirth and hypnotherapy for psychosexual disorders. Mark is also an associate member of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Mark specialises in helping clients overcome obstacles such as chronic pain, phobias, anxiety, low self esteem, stage fright, traumas and motivational problems as well as weight control, smoking cessation, relationship issues, personal development and much more.
